Change title metadata

Each title has catalog information that includes metadata like release date, synopsis, genre, and ratings. This information helps with discoverability and appeal of your videos on Prime Video.

The following metadata is available per title type:



Standalone
  • Title
  • Category
  • Category listing
  • Title Metadata Language

    Note: A title’s metadata language determines the locations to which it can be published. For supported languages by location, see Location Requirements.

  • Synopsis
    Note: Some language alphabets contain letters and symbols that count as more than one character. The counter below the text box provides an accurate character count.
  • Genres
    Genres help viewers know the stylistic format of the title. We also use them in search, personalization, and categorization of content. When picking genres, be as specific as possible as it makes finding your content easier on Prime Video. For a complete list, see Genre Definitions.
  • Rating system
  • Rating reasons
    This provides detailed information about the type of content contained in a movie or TV show. Select up to four reasons per rating system. If you're not sure what to select, leave this blank. Note: Prime Video reserves the right to update Rating reasons as necessary.
  • Suggested rating
  • Original language
  • Original release date (required for all videos)

Episodic title
  • Series Title
  • Synopsis

Change a standalone title

  1. In Your Videos, on the Standalone tab, click the title.
  2. On the Catalog Listing tab, make your changes.
  3. Click Save.
  4. Click Submit for review.

Change an episodic title

  1. Go to Your Videos, and then click the Episodic tab.
  2. For the series you want to update, click the arrows next to Add season button.
  3. Click Edit series.
  4. Update the Title, Category, or Synopsis.
  5. Click Save, and then click Submit for review.
  6. Go back to Your Videos, and then click the Episodic tab.
  7. Click on a season of the series updated in steps 2–5.
  8. Click Save, and then click Submit for review.
  9. If you have multiple seasons to update, repeat steps 6–8.

Change a season

  1. In Your Videos, on the Episodic tab, click the arrow button to the left of the episodic title.
  2. Click the season.
  3. On the Catalog Listing tab, make your changes.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Click Submit for review.

Change an episode

  1. In Your Videos, on the Episodic tab, click the arrow button to the left of the episodic title.
  2. Click the season that contains the episode.
  3. On the Episodes tab, click the arrow button to the left of the episode title.
  4. After completing your changes, click Save.
  5. Click Submit for review.
